[simpits-tech] Falcon4 BMS: pit builder news

I suspect they will sit back and wait to see what Atari plans to do with
Falcon as it sits now. If it is put on the shelf to not be touched again by
Atari, I'm sure it will be "accidentally" be leaked. If there's plans to
push forward via another developer, the prudent thing to do would be sit
tight. There are beta versions of OIR out there right now. I'm not sure
how far OIR has gotten in the development, but BMS seemed to be making some
nice strides forward. I think we'd all like to see that continue. Falcon
has seen this before and we've seen in the past this will not stop the
bettering of Falcon by the community.

To quote Claude:

"G2Interactive, Inc. has determined that it is in the best interest of
G2Interactive and that of the Community to decline the contract amendment
proposal offered by Atari. All effort to further develop any product based
on the intellectual property owned by Atari has been discontinued."

This means basically the development by G2I, and thus BMS has ceased. My
most logical deduction would be that Atari was not satisfied and did not
allow the OIR version to be released under the Atari brand name. And as the
license has expired a few months ago, I assume Atari is considering other
options.

I guess this all was to be expected, it just is shameful the community
effort is wasted again.

Erwin.
