Yes; I know what the XM VDI does, but I don't see where the AES sets up
its copy of the path. I took a quick look at GEM/2 and couldn't see where it
did it either. A dark suspicion is growing in my mind that programs have
been hardcoding it; certainly wordplus.app and publisher.app contain the
string C:\GEMSCRAP.
