It's a very good idea to release another GEM distribution, especially
one that could increase ease-of-use. However, when you do so it will
not be the OpenGEM distribution of FreeGEM. It would be important to
make that distinction, as (a) I would be unable to support it, and (b)
the name 'OpenGEM' is going to be used by the company Opendawn.com for
all its GEM releases. These will include the release of OpenGEM 6 on
the 19th of this month.

For these reasons it is important to have another name for your FreeGEM
distribution.

There are packages made by a person called Blair on the FreeDOS project
that include OpenGEM. There is also the GNU/DOS project which does the
same. At the moment I am examining the files for FreeDOS Beta 10, and
the CD version (with extras) might include OpenGEM Core.
