I can't find the clip now, but the Le Mans hybrid sound was
unbelievable.. sounded like the sound effects guys from the new star
wars movie did the sound track for the video :)

i saw a 'hybrid' McClaren on BBC Top Gear that was (pretty much) my car
of choice.

yes, i can just drive on pure electricity, and switch like you describe
below.

plus, it can use the electric in addition to the gas engine for smokin
hot starts and a crazy torque boost. don't remember the combined
horsepower, but it was nuts.
