Hi, Sean.

i saw a 'hybrid' McClaren on BBC Top Gear that was (pretty much) my 
car of choice.

yes, i can just drive on pure electricity, and switch like you describe below.

plus, it can use the electric in addition to the gas engine for 
smokin hot starts and a crazy torque boost. don't remember the 
combined horsepower, but it was nuts.
