ok!/instructor station of sorts/??? for the most part it dose not really
exist!!
you might look at X-plane.. but most of sims fall flat and well short of
any instructor station...

Well I have talked about this here before, and in my blog
(http://phoenixcomm.wordpress.com)
The problem stems from that the "sims" are basically monolithic. So If
you wanted the instructor station, and or a back seat in an F14 or the
"bridge of the Enterprise", or all the crew stations on a B52 your out
of luck!
Well Not So. I have been working on NextGen for the last 4 or 5 years.
Its based on passing messages, between various computers, ie Model (3D
model of your planes dynamics, flying over the earth), the NAV computer
(basically the inputs and outputs of the Model), Auto Pilot, Pilot
controls (direct control over the dynamics model), Control Panels, Radio
SubSystem which includes: network connections to VATsim, a Morse Code
Simulator, and output to drive instrument flags), and then of course the
out the window computer.
