Frank, the last acrylic I machined was with a 1/4" "O" flute cutter @ 
10,000RPM with a feed rate of 1 inch/sec and a cut depth of 1/8" per pass.

Onsrud makes some very good "O" flute cutters specifically for machining 
acrylic.  Note that you'll get better results from cast acrylic as opposed 
to extruded acrylic.
