Justin the machine we recently built for the sim came in around $1000 for 
the motherboard, CPU & 6GB of 2Ghz memory.  The CPU is an Intel i7 Quad 
core, HyperThreaded (appears to be an 8 core cpu to the host OS) @ 2.8Ghz.

The video card is one I already had (GTX260).

The machine runs FSX with the Orbx Pacific NW scenery VERY nicely.  The 
test resolution was 1024x768.  The machine runs Win7 Ultimate.

Do NOT scrimp on the power supply. :)
