I'm having a hard time picturing what you're talking about with the skin. Got any links to something similar that I could look at? I mean, hell, if I can do it now, I would rather get it out of the way.

Actually, that's pretty easy. First thing I would to is create a
cap-strip that's 1" wide to a side that you can use to cap the edge of the
strakes with. You can cut down a bunch of aluminum angle to make tiny
brackets to attach the cap strip to.
>From there you can install more of the homemade L brackets and nut plates
to allow you to use screws to attach the "upper" and "lower" skins with.
Get yourself a rivet fan, a pile of #6 x .25" flat head screws, a micro
stop and you're off to the races. :)
