[simpits-tech] U2 MFD dimensions...

I can't wait to see the prototype built! I think this is a great idea. A WWII fighter would be a great place to start for a 
simpit - nice and simple.

Yep.  The wonderful thing about banging your head against the wall is how 
nice it feels when you stop. :)

I'm hoping to get a few more parts done this week so I can cut a prototype 
of the "single place, prop fighter" cockpit.  I'm still debating on 
whether or not to put your little "door" in the side, or make 'em build a 
small entry ladder. :)   The distance from the floor to the canopy rail is 
(AFAIR) less than 30" so it shouldn't be that big of a deal.  The 
instrument panel is going to be a bit small, but for the most part they 
all were in those single seat fighters.

I can't recall if I posted the pics here, but this is what it looks like:

The aft canopy-shaped arch is only 8" long.  I've managed to keep the 
whole thing at 72" overall.  Width at the widest point is 44".
