[simpits-tech] USB Sound cards

I still enjoy the 3.1 version: (Creative Labs Ensonique 128)

A speaker on each side of the monitor and a woofer under the desk.

Is X-Plane at the stage where it will sound as though the landing gear is 
beneath you or the prop in front or the wind on the side in surround sound?

I doubt it. And I doubt it ever will be unless some kind soul takes it on. 
For free as usual of course. It's like the Austin Meyer Food Bank ain't it?
