Jesus, why didn't you just build a hanger and be done with it?

Light some fires hell, we would need to have a forest fire. Gene and I
looked about the shop this weekend and said "we could do it but it would
require 8 hours plus a day for the next month to get things ready in the
existing shop. We currently work on the shop and projects one day a week so
we get a lot done in a day folks, I know it seems like we are taking forever
but what did you do last Saturday?

Genes' wife refers to the shop as the "Man Shed" and has for some time. I
hate the name myself. The floor in the "barn" is down adding an additional
600 sq ft. of work space for the future, no walls as of yet. We are looking
at pouring something in the neighborhood of 10 cu yds of concrete this
summer to increase the barns work space by another 600 plus sq ft. The
wooden floored portion of the "barn" will then house the wood working tools,
the concrete floored area we hope to use as a paint/assembly area and
possible area for a vacuum forming machine, which I still need to design and
construct.

The "Man Shed" has three more cabinets to finish and hang, we did not have
enough hinges this past week-end to complete. Then there are tasks like
under cabinet lighting, peg board and shelving to install over the work
benches. We have in mind a tool storage cabinet and bookcase to design and
build still as well.

When you consider the shear<?> number of hand tools owned by Gene and myself
storage is a problem, we on occasion have multiple duplicates of tools. I
have one tool box that contains noting but screwdrivers, stop and think
about that folks a whole tool box dedicated to nothing but screwdrivers. We
glanced about at sanders in the shop this weekend and we decided that we
could fill one cabinet with electric sanders alone and still have excess
that would need to be placed elsewhere. We could fill another cabinet with
battery operated drills and still have overflow as well. We need to consider
the construction of a charging bench for all of the battery operated items,
not just tools, toys as well. The electric RC aircraft demand a charging
station as well.

We will go ahead at this time and place the <small>metal lathe and box brake
on the work bench as other construction needs demand time for them first.
The benches for these two items require special attention.

The barn structure as I said has a wooden floor now. I am hoping on getting
started on this structure soon building some walls on two exterior sides of
the structure and getting a roof over the projected new area this summer.
This summer will also see the moving of the air compressor outside in a
small shed of its own, thats yet another project, Gene and I poured the
concrete floor for that just two weeks ago.

At some point we have to get around to finishing the foam cutting bench,
it's ninety percent complete. It's going to make some folks very jealous.

Oh, did I mention finish an F-15C cockpit flight simulator.

Keep 'em Flying

I would imagine that she may not think where I'm at right now is "visual"
enough for the target audience. Remember, nothing works right now, it's
just a pile of parts. :)

Guys like Matt Ford, James Price, Matt Weitlispach and our own Justin
Messenger have far more complete setups than I do. (Roy has the market
cornered in the UK)

My wife thinks it's funny as hell and she's up for it. If they want to
send a crew out I certainly won't tell them no, but it'll mean Rob and I
have to start lighting some fires to get things organized. :)
