[simpits-tech] An idea - headset boxes

Actually, it's the headset side that converts easily. An aircraft headset is just a 1/4" jack, and the headset side of my box does just that - a straight 1/4" to 1/8" adapter. Of course, that doesn't always work - some sound cards don't provide enough power to push the high-impedence headset speakers. The mics, though, are a different story. There are two reasons why this won't work for the microphone:
A) It's a different size. Close to 1/4", but not quite. It's smaller. So plugging an aircraft mic into a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter will result in a very loose and very poor connection, at best.
B) Aircraft mics take a lot more power than a normal computer mic. My boxes provide that power with a 9V. Some soundcards might be able to handle it, I don't know. Anything is possible, I guess.
