Frank, the pics I posted of the car sim Rob and I built last weekend uses
an 800x600 LCD panel atop a 4000 Lumen 3M overhead projector. The panel
works really well. The important part is whether or not the panel uses a
TFT (thin film something or other) LCD. These are fast displays and are
usable for simming. I've _never_ seen an 800x600 panel that wasn't TFT so
you should be ok. Avoild the 640x480 units. They're basically useless
for our purposes.

I am looking for more of them, so if you find a cache of used ones for a
reasonable price, please let me know.

On another note - I just got a FedEx package from the Panel God, Peter
Cos. I tasked him with creating a duplicate of the ruined lightplate that
is connected to the lower HUD face in my F-15.

I opened the package and just stared in open mouthed shock. It's perfect.
It's beautiful! It's impressive! I have _never_ seen a replica panel of
this quality anywhere, by any vendor. I'm utterly blown away.

He took a battered lightplate and created a masterpiece. I can't wait to
see how the rest of them look. He'll be doing all the panels I don't
have.

When I get home tonight I'll post pictures of the original and new panel.
I just can't get over how cool it looks.

Wow.
