There have been several MIGs for auction, this is one of the better ones. I 
have seen flyable fighter aircraft from several nations up for bid.

What I would like to know is who had the information to buy these in the 
first place to auction them?

Also, previously up for auction was Dale Earnhart's  Bell407. The starting 
bid was about as high as a brand new one minus custom paint and interior 
(about another $100,000). No takers, it now up for regular sale at a dealer.

I have seen a couple Bell 206/OH-58 fuselages up for bid, but not for 
flight sim, all were good airframes to rebuild.
