I also remember from my Falcon-tweaking days that if you must have a swap
file, you can use a good disk defragmenter (such as the one in Nuts And
Bolts) and tell it to put the swap file at the beginning of the hard drive,
for faster read times. I should probably do that with my system, before I
get too much more installed on it.... *shrugs*

Oh, and you might want to check on that 2x or 256 rule, I want to say that
it's outdated, but I'm not really sure. I just remember, again from my
Falcon-tweaking days, that there is some rule of thumb out there that a lot
of people still use that's actually horribly outdated. Not sure if it's the
same rule or not, though.

Another cool tweaking idea you might want to try, Steve, is not having
windows load when the computer starts. Again, I'm not sure how ME works, but
in 9x you can go to the win.ini file, and change the line that says
"shell=explorer.exe" to "shell=whateverprogramyouwant" - tada, windows
starts up, but only loads the program you need. I'd imagine you could use a
batch file there to load up a couple programs if you needed it. And if you
really know what you're doing you can delete a lot of the windows
executables, the ones they don't give you an option of not installing.
