Or, how about rotating the entire center section of the capsule, with 
panels attached, to allow access?  That way the hatch ends up on the right 
wall, and the left hand panels end up on the top.... if you follow what I 
mean....

Ahhh, you gotta love spacecraft :)  I was working out how big I'd make the 
CM/LM, and it's only a little over 9' across!  TINY!   Now imagine being 
jammed in the thing, with two others FOR A WEEK!
