[simpits-tech] F-16 parts

That's not to suggest that 30+ year old aircraft are necessarily obsolete
(i.e., B-52). However, carrier-based aircraft see very frequent and severe
load cycles in the course of their lives (not counting combat flight
maneuver loads). Air Force weenies* with miles of runway and flared
landings can keep their planes airshow fresh for years longer than Naval
Aviators who routinely crash into ships, only to be violently catapulted off
the deck moments later.

*meant with great respect. No offense to our intrepid Air Force folks. :)

Well, I guess that you're right. After some 30 years of service, it had to
be retired.
