[simpits-tech] F-16 Front panel (MFD, RWR console)angle

Marv,
Thanks. I have the console itself at 90 to the rudder floor and you've
helped me by clarifying that the angle of the main panels is 15 degrees
towards the nose in the vertical (which I thought was 10). I take it the
panels are at 90 with respect to the center console and aren't angled
towards the pilot as you go from the inside (where the MFD is) to the edge
(where the analog gauge housing is - right hand side).

Chris

Not quite.

The back edge of the real center console is 90 degrees (vertical) in
relation to the floor pan (where rudders mount). The floor pan is 0 degrees
or your reference point.

The front console leans forward 15 degrees from vertical (i.e., 75 degrees)
toward the nose of the aircraft as referenced from the floor pan.

I am going to buy one of those expensive digital protractors this week and
hop over to Dayton's F-16A simulator and grab some angles as referenced from
the floor pan. I'll share those next week.

Marv
