[simpits-tech] Lightplates demystified....

I took a couple of pictures of how a Type 5 lightplate is built for you
guys.

The lightplate itself is just a bit over an inch square.  The part on the
left is the PCB that holds the lamps that are used to illuminate the
panel.  They're standard bare lead grain of rice bulbs.

The part on the right is of course the display side of the lightplate.
The little "+" in the upper left shows where the center of the power
coupling is.

This is what the insides look like.  The object on the left is the inside
face of the printed circuit board.  The blue squares outline the two bulbs
used to illuminate the panel.

The object on the right is the plastic portion of the panel.  The cups
where the bulbs intrude into the panel are outlined in blue.

The total thickness when assembled is .253 as measured by a digital
caliper.
