The "howta" on aviation headset conversion is available on 
FlightSim.com.  Decent resource, by the looks.

You don't have to register to just browse the site.  Go to: 

http://www.flightsim.com/help/login.htm 

..and scroll down to the "Having Problems" paragraph, and the link 
just above offers access without registering.  Use it.  Then use the 
link:

http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=main/howto/adapter.htm

You may need to manually plug it in to your browser, but it'll getcha 
there.  Be sure to save the page!  You never know when a good 
resource will go the way of the dodo.
