Not a bad thought, however you are right about the heat and the lights being
wired in series. One blows and you have to find it.Although I think they now
make those lights in parallel also, which wouldn't be as bad. Those two
points are reasons why I thought the fiber optic may be worth investing.
>From what I have see so far, it is fairly cheap. I have not done any
extensive price shopping, but I did fine one light source for about $110 and
the cable for $3 per foot. Also, there would be no heat inside the cockpit
since the light source could be anywhere you wanted. And, only one bulb to
worry about.

I'm interested in other ideas anyone may have too.
