Hi. My name is Steve Elliott, from Cobourg, Ontario, Canada and i'm working
on an f16 pit. This is a low budget pit with most parts scratch built from
whatever I can find around the house, work, etc. The biggest expense so far
has been buying all the toggle swithes, buttons, and paint. This is a full
shell pit about 95% complete. (There are some pics on the simpits site, f16
section). I started the pit last october. Bought a Cougar Hotas this summer.
Installed it and have been having too much fun with Falcon 4 and IL2 to get
much work done. With the cold weather back, I think I'll get back at it.
Once the pit is finnished with all switches in place I'll have to decide
what interface to use for them. Epic, Phidgets, Hagstrom, other? Only
interested in switches for now, but would like to drive instruments and
panel/warning lights in the future. Without the ingenuity and shared
experiences of many people here, this project would still be only a dream.
Glad to be part of this group.
