Hi Alan,
I just re-read your last post. I know the plane you are talking about =
and that was one of two that were quickly modified to land in a soccer =
field during the IRAN hostage crisis. Lockheed Skunk works modified the =
two C-130s to have JATO/RATO bottles to both STOP in a short distance by =
pointing forward, and also the regular backwards pointing ones to take =
off in a very short distance. One crashed during testing.
The plane I am talking about is totally new, and is NOT a C-130 =
modification, its only C-130 sized...thats why I am so intrigued. Ill =
try to find the link to the guy who wrote the report. Id love to hear =
what other think of what the guy says.

drawing, but I would love to see a real pic.

i've seen pictures of the craft - a highly modified C-130.
the extra "engines" were JATO units ( i think ), and yes, it was =
used to quickly, covertly drop troops. i don't think it has actually =
seen action.
this has to be an extremely dangerous plane to fly, based on other =
C-130-type disasters i've seen in the past.
