In order to get the controllers atis you must either request it using
.atis <name> or bring up the ATC directory and double click the
controllers name... Squawkbox will parse the atis looking for RW channel
info and then join you to the requested channel, as well as setting your
com frequency to the controllers frequency..

The answer: YES! That's the beginning of the process after you logged into
Squawkbox system. You will have to find the appropriate ATIS (i.e. your ATC
in the designated area).. double click on it, and your RW will then join
with the channel. Squawkbox will tie this RW channel to the corresponding
COM. Once your are guided to change to other COM (for some airport, mostly
in Europe, there are ground ATC, approach ATC, departure, and even one who
takes care of the apron and docking), you will only have to change the COM
frequency in your virtual cockpit (using mouse pointer or any other signal
input (EPIC, XKEY, you name it) ... and the RW channel will be changed.

Your question:
This poses a problem, as how do you get the controllers ATIS without
having a keyboard to type the controllers name, or a monitor to see what
controllers are online?

The answer: Hmm.. I don't think we have to do any extra monitor for the
above Squawkbox feature. Since you will only have to do that only once at
the beginning.

Well, as I mentioned before, I'm not a frequent flyer in the MSFS
environment through IVAO. Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong. I wrote
the articles to guide my members (Thai Flight Simulator) starting from A B C
.. to teach them to fly even more fun on the multiplayer channels. I hate
Zone.com !!!! SATCO is dead... And IVAO has more and more members... that's
the simple reasons. Besides, I rather spend my time with developing the
viper accessories, working on hundreds of drawings. The rest of my time
would be sitting in my cockpit and enjoy bombing something in the Falcon SP2
(even though I was shot down more often!)

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply Sukit!

Does changing your com frequency automatically change your RW channel? I
did not think it did.

This is how I understand it:

In order to get your RW channel to change you must get the channel info
from the controllers ATIS.
In order to get the controllers atis you must either request it using
.atis <name> or bring up the ATC directory and double click the
controllers name... Squawkbox will parse the atis looking for RW channel
info and then join you to the requested channel, as well as setting your
com frequency to the controllers frequency..

This poses a problem, as how do you get the controllers ATIS without
having a keyboard to type the controllers name, or a monitor to see what
controllers are online?

We are working on a couple of ideas for our 767 cockpit:

1. Put a small MFD type LCD screen under the com radios, this would
display the squawkbox window.
2. Map button presses to various options:
Button 1: type .atc<enter> (This would pop up the atc directory
dialog)
	Button 2: Move selection up.
	Button 3: Move selection down.
Button 4: Press Enter to select item.

This would allow us to simulate using the mouse to select a ATC station.

The problem with this is that it means yet another video card with
TV-Out to drive the LCD MFD is required.
