HI Justin,

Yes I have seen the Philips Petroleum Curvatron Screen that Paul has in
house. It actually makes a pretty good image if you set it up right. Once
again, to me the projector is key. I wish I had connections in the Projector
world---or win the lottery.

If you remember when you visited me in 2001, I had a large black welded
structure that I intend to use as the device to hold my curved screen. I
have to manufacture the screen yet, but that structure will work perfectly
to support it and keep it from flexing. It used to hold large mirrors for an
F/A-18 simulator built by what is now called L3Com ( Link) Its very large,
and not to mention heavy, but for the size of screen I am going to have to
place on it, its just right. My screen will be a thin plastic sheet that
will be formed into place that will support an approximately 120H x 60H
forward view. The screen will be a compound curve ( up and down as well as
the semi-wrap around caused by its long rectangular shape and the curve
created by the Metal support structure underneath.

That curvatron screen works even better with racing sims. Racing sims
naturally render more detail of the surface due to a cars proximity to the
ground.
Racing an F-1 game on that screen was realy cool.

By the way, I realized you defineatly got Gene and my self beat when it
comes to size of metal hunk...Ill just eat my Humble pie now. DC-8
defineatly beats us both!
Where is it now?

Chris W
