I have been working on this one myself. Unfortunately, I have not found a
COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) solution for the display.
The display area is 1.250" by 3.375", approximately. There are 5 lines of
25 characters (not 24).
If you use a 5 by 7 dot matrix for a character and add one pixel as a
spacer, then you need a dot matrix of 40 by 150 pixel display.
However, there may be some hope. I have been negotiating with several
people to custom make this display. If we can get a few hundred F-16
drivers to buy these it might be feasible. ;-)
I am still looking for alternatives and if something comes up, then I'll let
you and the group know.
Conversely, if you find a solution there will be a number of members here
that will lick your shoes. ;-)
