SPI Interface - what is that?
Anyway, this the connector descriptions :
J1: (IO to PC)
Signal 2
Signal 1
Step
Direction
+12v
gnd
+5v
J2: (To Stepper)
Common Coil
Coil 1
Coil 2
Coil 3
Coil 4
J3 / J4: (To/From Sensor)
Signal
Gnd
+5v
The idea for J3 and J4; connection to an optical sensor where +5v and
GND is connected to a light source and +5v and signal is connected to a
phototrans. and the signal from this sensor is carried through to J1 as
Signal 1 resp. 2 (for boundary checks).
you connect the power mains to GND, +5v and +12v. the direction when
high lets the stepper "half step" one way and when low the other way
when the Step-pin goes high.
Im about to make an expansion board, so you can control 15 steppers with
sensors on 8 a bit IO port. the downside is that you can only rotate one
stepper at a time. but more on that later....
