If I may inject something here. As you look into a mirror the image you see is in the distance. The image is light being bent so you can see it. You are not focusing on the mirror but on the light reflected from the mirror or reflected image. If you focus on the mirror the image is blurred. If a bug is on the windscreen then you are focusing on that bug. This is not a reflected image. Anothere example, look into binoculars and you see far away. Turn the binoculars around and hold them at arms length. The image you see is small but is clear. You are looking at an image in the distance. But if you focus on the binoculars then the image is blurry.
