I've just come back from my local B&Q  (UK equivalent of a Home Depot) and
had a quick look to see what flavours of MDF they stocked. The thinnest
was 6mm which you sinmply will NOT get to bend anything like as much as
you'd need to for a 'pit.

What they dod have though was 6mm 'bendy' MDF which is just regulat MDF
with a load of kerf cuts on one face. This stuff really does bend
amazingly well - I had a good play in the store :)

The price was about $7.50 for a 4'x2' sheet.
