It is always interesting to apply tricks from another discipline to your
hobby.

Just an idea borrowed from my other hobby Surfing…..

Rather than bending MFD, I built the Aces seat with the curvy sides but a
straight seatback. Then I used cardboard to form the curved seat back. Next
I cut a small hole and injected polyurethane foam -"Great Stuff" available
in
any hardware store.
My plan was to remove the cardboard and shape / sand the foam in preparation
for fiberglassing. One can make any shape using this technique. However, I
got lazy and left the cardboard and simply painted it grey. It doesn't
really look all that bad. And besides, it is covered with a cushion anyway.

Next, for the seat bottom, I ran out of great stuff, so I used the styrofoam
block from a destroyed boggieboard to shape the curves of the seatpan.

I also used it to carve the headrest.
