Not to sound to "know it all" and not to put even more fuel on this
topic.... but i have to say this, as im a bit undeceive about a war
against Iraq...

The reason for being undeceive is the following :

1) US seams to policing every body, but only will they intervene if
there "way of live" (here i mean in the Iraq case - oil) is threatened -
which is not acceptable - either you are a policeman or you are not - so
you will have to choose.

U.S. and world interest does lie in the middle east in the form of oil, the
world economy relies on it flowing, saying that I do not beleive this war is
over oil,
there was an attack on us on 9/11 and I see it as heading future attacks off
maybe indirectly, this will not be the last, the middle east is a hotbed of
hate, terrorism, human rights violations, if democracy can spawn in the
middle east the world will be better off, democracy's do not terrorize or
fight wars against one another, simple as that.

2) A war have very high civilian casualties, that is not acceptable
either - so war must be the very last way out, so as long as there are
hope in the diplomacy and weapon inspectors are making progress, let
the inspectors do there job, but keep the pressure on Iraq, and dont set
a time frame that you know isnt fair for anybody (like on the 1st set a
deadline of 17. - no body will eat that....)

The UN has set resolution after resolution, only to have Husein laugh in the
face
of every one of them, 12 years of it, as for diplomacy, its over, we have
bent over backwards time and time again, the whole time being undermined by
Russia, China and France, all of whom have financial interest in Iraq. The
UN has failed the world time and time again look at all the atrocities
committed around the world w/ the UN not lifting a finger to stop them, the
U.S. shares the brunt of the financial burden of the UN, only to have its
commitees chaired by the human rights abusers of the world, I see it as a
total farce.

3) I agree that Sadam have had to much leeway, and must be stopped, but
there are alternatives means to accomplish this....

How might that be? The UN passed resolutions time and time again threatening
serious consequences. When the resolutions are not met, the UN passes
another resolution to keep itself from enforcing the earlier one. Again, its
like watching the Keystone Cops.

4) if you look at history, almost every conflict starts with religion
(there are a few exceptions), but when its escalate into a WW, the
religion disappears simply because of number of players otherwise some
of the alliances we have seen throughout history could not have been
made, ask your self - why is US an Israel friends? this could not be the
case if it was pure religion......

The US backs Israel because it is a democracy, bottom line.

5) Bush junior - well - if dad could, so can I, try to hear him speak -
he is just a puppet (Sorry, no disrespect meant or intended, but just an
observation)

That is over simplistic (IMHO). I find it refreshing that the US has a
leader who actually looks out for its security, I think before 9/11
President Bush would have
had a sleepy presidency, I feel that things will get worse before they get
better,
in the post cold war erra, we see what we face, factionist extremist and
heavy dynamics in the world situation, it will take decisiveness to meet it
head on, not to burry ones head in the sand and hope everything turns out
great 10 years from now. The only time I have been disapointed in Pres. Bush
is getting the US into the UN quagmire. As for France, they can pound sand,
Germany, why do we have 71,000 US troops in a nation who's election was
determined by a cantidate who had to run on anti-american issues to get
elected, speaks volumes to me. I feel as do other Americans, our tax dollars
would be better spent moving those troops to
former warsaw pact nations who support us and our tax money would be
streched
farther.

6) the cols war is over, hence a more or less stable situation is over,
and out came a more "nervous" world, where everybody is on edge and it
only takes a little to tip the scale....

this is enough form me - ill go back to the shadows again.....

Sorry if offended anybody, that was not the purpose of this mail - it
was simply to say - MAKE LOVE NOT WAR - and there are always 2 sides to
every story

/Stig
