Some is true for atheism, although the American
atheist proffessor will normally argue that there is
no truth. It Justifies, the "if it feels good do it"
way of thinking. I don't have to worry about a god or
anyone else telling me what to do or what is ethical. 

Or for an atheist leader such as a communist, anything
that moves forward the cause of socialism is good. You
can justify doing all sorts of things this way.

Religion has a habit of answering questions
for one making it easier to develop truths. Some of
which may not be in fact
true, they simply become a part of your belief structure.
