Tom,

You are correct I am interested in GEM acting as a X-DM/X-WM (like KDE using KDM or Gnome does with GDM, etc.) without using an emulator of any kind. I had read this awhile back that this was proposed:

...is this (Linux based GEM) even remotely possible?
