Ugh, just realised my analysis of why the stack's moving down by a word on each
invocation is completely wrong -- by the time supret gets called xif()'s autos
and crysbind()'s parameters have been removed from the stack.  Blegh.  Now I've
got that off my mind, wonder if I'll be able to sleep?
