Try swapping the wires to that breaker with a breaker that is close and is the same size. If the heat issue goes to the old breaker then the new breaker is fine. If the heat issue stays with the new breaker then it's the new breaker.

Subject: [simpits-tech] Hot breaker!

Got an odd little issue on the Sabreliner. While doing electrical work,
I stupidly broke one of the terminals off a circuit breaker in the
overhead. Not to worry, I found what appeared to be an identical part
on that massive airplane junkyard: ebay.

Oddly, the breaker is heating up a lot. I have a number of other
breakers running the same sort of power (5vDC for cockpit lighting) and
NONE of the others are even warm to the touch. Is it possible for a
breaker to deteriorate such that it runs hot, but does not fail? Or
could it just be a cheap breaker?
