I realize wrapping your fingers on the glass of a cantankerous analog
instrument can be a suitable fix for sticky gauges (ditto for old
CD-ROM drives..).

I did NOT know aircraft manufacturers actually installed devices behind
the instrument panels of their planes to do the job for you.

Now I do. :P
