Wow, there be vitriol in them thar hills. I didn't know someone could
be "singularly unimpressed." :P

I understand if folks who don't know you might INITIALLY take it as a
plug from someone in cahoots with castAR, but there is more than
speculation in those posts. Here, of course, I don't think any of us
even had that thought, since we know who you are, and know how
enthusiastic you are for the hobby. :)

Did I see in one post that the guy is bitterly clinging to a "desk and
old chair" and does NOT ever want anything beyond that? Why be bitter
against folks who choose to take it to the next level? Sounds like a
bunch of grumpy old farts who have sour grapes about something,
somehow. Jealous of cockpit builders? Perhaps they are bitter because
MS has abandoned them with FSX (hence no native support for castAR or
anything else meaningful that's part of flight simulation's future).

Interesting to note that the guy with the most positive comment is
someone who has actually DEVELOPED something...from his sig:

Perhaps if your post sounds like a sales pitch, it is because you have
vision. I think anyone who takes on a full cockpit project, or any
other major creative undertaking (designing a plane, developing a new
product, making art, etc) has vision. This means that once you spot an
idea like castAR, your own imagination can run far beyond whatever
information is provided by the project's brief online overview.

Personally, I don't expect I would be interested in castAR....sorry,
the GeneScreen still has me sold. :) There is a reason the big boys do
it the way they do. BUT, for anyone who is not crazy and has a "normal"
sim setup in a reasonably sized room (no giant projection screens or
600+sq-ft shops), castAR could truly be revolutionary! Or, if your
cockpit is confined to an enclosed trailer and/or is exhibited outdoors
a lot, this could be a simple way to get a far better visual system
than what would otherwise be feasible (hey Justin, I am thinking of the
B-52 and the 737....)

I still would love to get my hands on one of these rigs and see what
it's like.
