[simpits-tech] Mirror management system...

Wayne & I got the bugs ironed out of the system we developed in order to
manage the collimating mirror shape. This new method allows us to use a
less than perfectly sealed mirror chassis.

The green colored pot with the knob on it is used to control the distance
that the mirror is away from the IR sensor head. The circuit that Wayne
designed worked out really well. The next iteration of it will use some
555 timer magic in order to directly drive the servo and take the Arduino
out of the loop.

By moving the bleed-air gate inline with the hose, we avoid the sound
issue that was being caused by having the gate on the back of the mirror
chassis. Moving the dust collector farther away will reduce the ambient
noise even further.

Next week should see us assembling the parts for the new mirror that I've
already been able to cut - there's only 1 sheet of parts left to cut.
It's gonna be neat. :)

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical
minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which
holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd
by the clean end.
