[simpits-tech] Warning about using "older" LCD Displays

The screen was obtained by taking a Compaq LTE5300 notebook and
removing everything from the case. Then discarding the keyboard
and using the rest of the system re-organised behing the MIP and
connected to the rest of the system via the 10/100 ethernet port.

Ended up turning the screen back to nornmal orientation and losing
the proper positioning of the MIP layout because of the width of
the screens.

The display was a 10.4 inch diagonal standard 4:3 ratio with
800x600 resolution. Certainly this would have been before normal
TFT monitors became available.

Great info Jim!  Was the panel you tried a "standard" TFT or was it the 
style they used before TFT became common?
