I have to agree - to a point. There's typically a huge disconnect in
understanding the concept of "You can have it Cheap, Great or Fast. Pick
one."

It's not my intention to even give them a choice. They get Cheap and it's
up to them to make it Great. It's a lot like building a wooden model of
pretty much anything. The result you get is directly proportional to the
effort spent building it. If you rush through it, no matter how well my
design & parts are, you're still going to end up with a pile of crap. :)

That's why I'm avoiding doing anything "scale". I've seen that kit and
it's a freakin' work of art. The price point is where it dies on the
vine. Your average buyer with his 2.5 crib midgets will never get that
kind of thing past SWMBO for what amounts to a big fancy model kit. Even
if he does manage to sneak it by, she'll have his guts for garters when
she finds out that the $1000 kit is just the _start_ of it and they'll be
upwards of three times that amount needed to fit it out. :)

I don't agree. After the design is done, 99% of the time is me puttering
around the shop while the 'bot does her thing. Hell, if I sell one or two
a month, I'd be satisfied. This isn't a way to make gobs of cash anyway.
I'd be happy if it covered the electric & heating in the shop. :)

The price point I'm hoping for is somewhere between $150 and $300, but
absolutely no more than $500.

BTW, for those that wonder about the seat in the pics, that's not what
will go in there. The prototype was designed around a mid-90's Corsica
seat that I paid a whopping $16 for a couple of years ago. :)

Thanks for your comments Jay!
