[simpits-tech] DLP Projector Image Issue

Room (one car garage) is 14' long (from screen to rear wall). The sim (F-111
fixed base trainer) is 8' long. Crew seating to screen is about 7.5'. The
space behind the screen is maybe 2'. I'm just boxed in. I built a wall
screen and ideally looking for an image that is 10' to 11' wide. I
originally had two 800X600 projectors which worked great except the 1600X600
resolution caused some visual anomalies (floating buildings) using Falcon 4
so I went with a single 1024X768 projector. The projector is currently about
13'(back wall) from the screen and although great quality it is about 25%
smaller than I would like.

Does the mirror have any magnifying qualities or is that handled by varying
the distance between the project, mirror and screen? Can you get a mirror
with larger magnifying qualities to I can lessen the distance between the
components?

Kiko

PS If I get the 1024X768 setup to work, I will have two 800X600 LCD
projectors that will be looking for a home (at an attractive price).

Kiko, you should use rear projection.

You can configure your projector to mirror the image and then project
against a translucent screen like a 200 thread count bedsheet. Rob and I
did some experiments with this with great success.

One of the test screens we built gave a 5' high by 10' wide image, 2' away
from the eye point. HUGE difference. :)
