I think this is the reason the squat switch was invented ;)

Hopefully I'll have a gear lever of my very own soon... and not connected to 
a computer ;) Just another 3 hours of dual and 7.5 of solo... then another 
184 hours... then another 250 hours... this is gonna take a while.
