[simpits-tech] Projector problems

my Apollo 1600 overhead projector quit shining light even though the light bulb is still good. I think the problem is the diode that shuts the bulb off when it get too hot. They want me to ship the entire unit to fix it and that is expensive. Have any of you replaced the diode on a overhead before? I'm not even sure where it is in the unit.
