Open cockpits ARE fun. I got a ride in a Waco once, sister bought it for my birthday. It was a good time! :)

As far as the new T-6's, I don't believe they are, however they are based off a civilian design to begin with, the Pilatus PC-9. Obviously a lot of differences, but since most of them would be specific to the military's mission anyway, might as well go for the Pilatus.
