I have recently purchased and set-up the KE72 through my keyboard input and
the RS232 port is used to download the program to the PIC chip on the KE72
board. I have no previous experience in computers and the company was very
responsive and helpful. The instructions on the enclosed disc for software
programming was not entirely useful for FS2004 (WinXP). The way I read
their literature you can have a fairly large number of inputs (2 per SPDT
switch) I would guess about the command size being limited to individual
and recognized combination keystrokes including numeric pad. I use the USB
connection for my CH Product control yoke with throttle exetera and am
competing a single engine sim and hope to move on to bigger sim after I
master the Rotary Switch connection to the KE72
