Just about every airborne intercom and radio system in use today has a
400Hz "hum" to it from the various 28 and 115V AC power systems on board.

I don't know if all modern gear sufficiently filters it out though.
Probably not because it would mess with that range in the audio spectrum.

Remember that all (so far that I've ever seen) use a 400Hz AC source for
their alternating current needs.  This is because transformers are much
lighter for 400Hz gear than for 60Hz gear.

I just uploaded a sample for you.  The high frequency whine in the
background is the noise I'm referring to.
