Because it's Sony and they ALWAYS use proprietary crap in everything they
build.  I don't have any first hand knowledge mind you, but that has always
been my experience with Sony.  Sony never does anything that's compatible
with the rest of the Earth.

The software isn't the problem. I have it since the VAIO F610 (mine) and
F630 (basically the same, but with a DVD) use the same drivers and all that.
It's the hardware I'm concerned with. I don't see why it won't fit, though.
