[simpits-tech] Some questions: Quickshot Masterpilot

Hi Tobias,

I am using Masterpilots too. First of all. If there is an EPROM inside then
you can't program it with the programmer. I use my programmer on an old PC
with less than 200MHZ CPU speed as I do not reprogram them very often.
I can have a look if I find the manual somewhere in my stuff and can send
you a copy.
If your cardride is not reprogrammable, I've done some for myself. It's not
so hard to do it, but my construction does not go into the original case.

Subject: [simpits-tech] Some questions: Quickshot Masterpilot

Hi everybody,

before proceeding with my questions first hello to all in this group.
I'm from Hamburg, Germany, and recently started to get more serious
about realizing my own viper simpit. Until moving to a bigger flat I'll
be fiddling around with desktop sim stuff and recently acquired a
quickshot masterpilot unit on ebay. Unfortunately undocumented,
incomplete and without programmer. So now I have a couple of questions
to you guys, being aware that the masterpilot is vintage tech to most of
you.

1. is there a way of telling if the memory cartridge is of the old type
or a newer programmable one? Todd Ferrante's page about this issue has
unfortunately disappeared.

2. what is your experience with reducing the bus speed to 60 MHz in
order to be able to use the programmer?

3. is anybody of you interested in getting rid off now unused
masterpilots (Roy Coates I guess recently was)

Thanks for your comments!

Cheers, Tobias
