I agree about the MCM issue, sometimes they have what you need, but the prices are through the roof(for what your getting, usually) although, I must say, I never had a problem with them messing up my parts orders, or having price differences on the invoices... I'd use them if I HAD to, otherwise... I'd keep looking around for as long as I could to find a much cheaper source. Belive me, they are around... It's a long shot, but check with L-3 communications in Alpheretta ,Ga. I used to work there doing commercial/Military anti-lock wheel braking systems.(incredible place to work, by the way... )At that particular building they repair/design some of the coolest instruments in aircraft today, I just don't know if the sell or deal with the public...Dano...

I have for sale an authentic 1960's F101 Voodoo simulator. Ex-USAF then ANG NY. Heavy, full-size, two seats, canopy without glass, panels but no instruments. All aluminum but preserved in Dittsler primer.
Appraised at $5000 but I will entertain offers. Located in Canada near Toronto.
No time or money to devote to such a worthwhile historic piece.
Regards,
andrewsjd at rogers.com

It's a shame you have to sell it Doug. Any pictures?

Farnell doesn't do much for me, but thanks for reminding me about Allied.
If I can't find what I need, the Agilent (HP) displays they sell will
work.

Both of those are "normal" displays. I'm looking for the neon types.

Ah, but only I know where he keeps them! I, in fact, spent two afternoons
contorted around in that beast taking out all the panels, throttle and stick
so it could be repainted the proper color. My back is still pissed at me.
Seems like everything in that sim has four connectors of some kind. Three
of which come out with ease, but the fourth takes an act of God to remove.

Hey Gene,

Just posting this as a new post to see if I can get another bounce for ya. Anywho, I havent had time to actually search their sites yet, so I don't know if they'll be any help, but here are a few electronics parts dealers I haven't heard mentioned yet:

http://www.mcmelectronics.com/
http://www.newark.com/
http://www.digikey.com/
http://www.mpja.com/
http://www.jameco.com/
These are just some catalogs I have, like I said, I haven't seen these mentioned yet so I thought I'd throw them out there. Incidently, Newark is by far the largest catalog I personally have, so you stand a good bet with them. Of course, I don't have an allied catalog at the moment, those are pretty big, too.

Just saw this, on sale for $199... who knows, might be a good deal for someone. Set up for testing CCTV cameras, so you know the video inputs are easy to work with:

Thanks for the list Brian. Newark is a den of thieves as proven by their
prices. :) Since it looks like they bought MCM, nuts to 'em both.

I'll check out Agilent though - they are the HP spinoff that makes 7
segment displays.

Funny story RE: Newark. Once upon a time I bought something from them, and it must have been something for the lab where "Michigan Tech" got mentioned in the billing or shipping or something. Long story short, for a period of several months, whenever somebody at Michigan Tech ordered something from Newark, they would get billed, they would get the part, but >I< would get the invoice!! Very annoying, but I eventually got it straightened out. It was pretty funny, actually.
